Here is the data we collect and why we collect it.

2.1 Information Collected Automatically

1. Device Data

When you use the services we provide, we may automatically collect some information. For example, your Internet Protocol (IP) address, mobile operator information, mobile advertising related information, specifically, persistent identifiers, iOS vendor identifier (IDFV), Google Advertising ID (GAID) or Android ID for Android devices; in addition, other unique identifiers, device information, Internet service provider information, language settings, time zone information, and the application version you use.

2. Usage Information

The pages you visit before, during, and after using the services provided by our applications, the types of content you interact with, the frequency and duration of your activities, and other information about how you use our services

3. Location Information

Our products not only provide news services, but also location-based weather information services. We may use your IP address to estimate your approximate location in order to provide the current weather and weather forecast for your area.

In order to provide you with accurate local weather information, we may request your permission to grant location information when you first register the app or enable location services in the device settings. The data that may be collected include your GPS coordinates, Wi-Fi or mobile base station information.

Approximate Location Data (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Used to display your local weather conditions. This part of location data will also be used by users to maintain the normal operation of the weather widget service.

Precise Location Data (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION): Used to provide high-precision location information, so that we can provide users with high-precision weather services.

After you agree to provide us with your location data, the collected location data will be transmitted over a secure network (https) and uploaded to our server (https://www.newshome.today/). We only use your location information to the extent necessary to provide the above-mentioned specific services and will never use it for any other unauthorized purposes. You can manage your location settings at any time and choose to disable the location service of the application, but this may affect the accuracy and functionality of the weather information provided.

4. App crash information diagnosis

When an app crashes or encounters technical problems, we may collect diagnostic information to help locate and resolve the problem. This information may include specific details of the crash, device model specifications, and related system logs.

2.2 Information You Provide Directly to Us

1. Create an Account. Currently, it is not necessary to create an account to use the App. We will update this section once this feature is enabled.

2. Your Communications with Us. We may collect Personal Information from you, such as an email address, when you request information about our Services, customer or technical support, or otherwise communicate with us.

3. Necessary information to maintain the normal operation of the application service. For example, we will request your location data information so that we can provide you with accurate local weather information services. You can choose to allow or refuse to provide this information.

2.3 What We Don't Collect

Our app does not request READ_PHONE_STATE or READ_PHONE_NUMBERS permissions, and does not collect phone number, IMEI, or SIM card information. However, integrated third-party SDKs (such as AppLovin and Pangle) may try to access relevant data for advertising purposes.

We do not collect sensitive personal information about you, including your name, email address, financial details, biometric data, or precise geographic location, unless you explicitly provide this information for use in weather or news features.

2.4 How we collect data

1. Directly from users: When you enable the weather widget(if available) or grant permissions (such as location access), this is the relevant data information necessary to keep the weather function running.

2. Through third-party services: We use Firebase, a tool provided by Google LLC, to process certain data (see for details in Chapter5).

2.5 Anonymization of data

Your data will be stored and processed in an anonymous form as much as possible. We will not identify you personally in any other way, except for the approximate location information obtained for providing weather reports and the device type information collected for analyzing crash reports.

3. How We Use Collected Data

By integrating and analyzing the information we have about you, we can better understand your usage and interaction with our services, thereby providing, personalizing, and improving our services. Specific uses include:

6. Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, or illegal activities.

7. To personalize advertising to you and measure its effectiveness.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We take the storage and protection of your personal information very seriously. User information collected through our services is stored and processed on the Google Firebase platform, which has built a secure infrastructure for data storage. Provide reasonable protection for your personal information to prevent loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration.

During data transmission, we use SSL encryption technology and protect content with AES encryption to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure. Data is stored in secure servers managed by Firebase, and access control mechanisms are implemented on the relevant servers.

We take commercially reasonable protection measures to protect user information security, such as requiring user identity verification through a unique password before granting account access. However, please note that no system can ensure absolute security. We cannot guarantee that information transmitted or stored through this service is completely free from security threats, nor do we guarantee that such information will not be accessed, disclosed, tampered with, or destroyed due to security breaches.

About Storage Period

In order to determine the appropriate retention period for personal information, we may consider factors such as applicable legal requirements, the amount, nature and sensitivity of personal information, storage risks, etc. The weather data service provided by this product will be cached for 2 hours and automatically updated, and user data will not be retained on our servers for longer than the time required for the service function.

Despite our precautions, we cannot guarantee that the service is completely secure, so we encourage users to be responsible for the confidentiality of their login credentials (including passwords and email communications). You are responsible for protecting and maintaining the privacy of your password when using the service. We recommend that you protect your personal information when browsing the Internet and use a secure Internet browser to maintain the confidentiality of your account information and control communication access between you and the service. We are not responsible for the security measures of third-party services.

About Deleting User Information

If a user chooses to delete an account from the service, all relevant user data (including account information and user-generated content) will be deleted from our system immediately in principle. This deletion operation is permanent and irreversible - after the account is deleted, the user data cannot be restored. Before initiating the account deletion process, be sure to back up all important information in advance.

Please read the following important supplements carefully.

(1) Device Information and Permission Statement

Our app does not request or use any sensitive permissions, such as READ_PHONE_ STATE (read device status) and READ_PHONE_NUMBERS (read phone number); we do not actively collect private data such as mobile phone numbers, IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) and SIM card related information. Our integrated advertising SDKs (such as AppLovin or Pangle) may attempt to access certain device information (such as advertising identifiers, device models, etc.) for advertising delivery and optimization. Such data collection is handled by the third-party SDK itself, and its privacy policy may be independent of our app policy.

(2) Collection and use of installed app information

As an Android launcher app, we need to obtain information about the apps installed on your device (including app name, package name, version number, etc.) to provide the following core functions: app drawer management, app quick launch, app sorting and classification. This data is only stored locally on your device and will not be uploaded to our servers. However, please note that third-party advertising SDKs (AppLovin, Pangle) may access this information to monitor and optimize advertising performance and avoid repeated promotion of installed apps. All data communications are encrypted via HTTPS transmission, and the collected information is anonymized and cannot be directly associated with personal identity.

(3) Dynamic code loading technology statement

Our application does not use any dynamic code loading technology, including DexClassLoader, DelegateLastClassLoader and InMemoryDexClassLoader. However, some third-party advertising service provider SDKs (such as AppLovin, Facebook Ads and Pangle) may use dynamic code loading technology under the premise of complying with platform policies, mainly for: optimizing advertising effects and meeting the compliance requirements of advertising platforms. All dynamically loaded codes run in a sandbox environment to ensure isolation, and SDK providers perform integrity verification to prevent malicious code injection. These technologies are only used for functional requirements and will not be used to bypass any compliance checks.

(4) Aggregate and de-identified data

We may share aggregated, anonymized or de-identified data with third parties for research, marketing or other commercial purposes. Such data does not contain any personally identifiable information.

We are committed to minimizing data collection and ensuring that all data processing complies with privacy protection standards. While we do not collect sensitive information ourselves, third-party ad SDKs may have independent data processing practices. We recommend that you review their privacy policies for more details. All data is stored and transmitted encrypted and anonymized to protect your privacy.

7. Your Private Rights

In certain circumstances, you may exercise the following rights under applicable data protection laws.

We respond to requests from all individuals who wish to exercise their data protection rights under applicable data protection laws. We strive to process within 30 days, but complex requests may take longer.

Please note that since most data is anonymized, we may need specific device details to process your request. For Firebase or advertising-related data, we may forward your request to the appropriate third party (e.g. Google LLC, AppLovin).

8. Why We Collect Device Application List Information

As an Android launcher product, one of its core necessary functions is to display and manage all applications on the user's device, so it is necessary to obtain a list of applications installed on the device. The main application scenarios include:

(1) Display all installed applications in user-friendly interfaces such as the launcher drawer and negative one screen

(2) Provide easy access to all applications

(3) Allow users to create shortcuts to add application icons to the home screen
